5w3d: There are TWO!

Here's the proof:
I saw this on the screen and seriously said, "Are those my ovaries?" Even my husband laughed. I just couldn't believe there were two... I was so happy I cried!

Doctor said so far, both look good. As you can see, they are in 2 different sacs and he saw the yolk in both, which is the precursor to the embryonic pole and that's a good sign. It is still VERY early and there is no guarantee we'll end up with two. I think we are feeling mostly incredibly excited, but still very cautious about the whole thing. But, I will take each step as it comes. So for now I will call them our twins!

I have been feeling much more nauseous this time than the last time, so I will take that as a good sign. Other than that, I feel pretty good. Our next appointment is next week, Wednesday April 10. We hope to see cardiac activity at that point.

For the next few days, I am going to bask in the happiness. I will try not to think of any of the fears or complications or issues that twins will bring. After struggling for so long, I welcome the thought of two babies and wish to remain ignorantly blissful for the moment. We are both so excited and are really hoping for the best this time! :)
