Day 4 Embryology Report

Per the embryologist this morning, things are "progressing as they should." We have one 8 cell, one 6 cell, 5 that are "compacting" into the morula stage, and one at the morula stage which looks like this:

Typically at day 4, embryos should be at the morula stage which has over 30 cells. I don't remember exactly where we were at this stage last cycle, but we ended up transferring 2 early blasts. I am hoping we can get two healthy blasts for tomorrow morning. Blast or blastocyst is the typical day 5 embryo stage and look something like this:

I am happy to report my stomach is feeling a bit better today, at least it no longer hurts to move. I might attempt a short walk today. Transfer is tomorrow at 10am. Since they use an external ultrasound on my uterus to guide the catheter internally, my bladder has to be full for better visualization (I don't love this part). So, I am to empty my bladder at 9am and then start drinking about 1 liter of fluids over the next hour.

I am hoping everything goes smoothly. It's exciting and nerve wracking. Wish us luck!!
